About the Nature Center:
The Delores Fenwick Nature Center (DFNC) is Pearland’s premiere environmental education facility. The Nature Center aims to provide hands-on educational opportunities through programs, workshops, field trips, and outreaches. Our focus is teaching Pearland about the native plants and animals found in our own backyards. Visitors to the DFNC will get to view a variety of live native animals, touch and examine different bio-facts at our touch table, play with our interactive exhibits, and participate in nature crafts. Outside on the Nature Center grounds, almost 2 miles of walking trails that surround our two ponds which house bird nesting islands and a multitude of resident and migratory bird species, turtles, and other wildlife. We also have an educational pond just off the DFNC building that models a fully native aquatic habitat with interpretative signage.
Admission to the Nature Center and the surrounding trails is FREE. Programs and workshops are subject to additional fees.
Additional features include bus lane parking, an outdoor pavilion with picnic tables, and access to the Mary's Creek Trail system.
Camp Pelican registration for Summer 2026 opens Wednesday, March 4th at 8AM! Don’t let your chance fly by!

The DFNC Nature Novelties Swap Shop is a monthly program in which children and adults can bring in their nature finds to swap for other nature-related items or DFNC merchandise. Each item that is brought in is awarded points based on our point scale. We'll keep track of your points and you can save them or spend them as you please. We encourage everyone to participate and look for items while they're enjoying nature. Please be sure to read through our pamphlet for items that we DO and DO NOT accept very carefully before collecting any items. Found something and you aren't sure what it is? Bring a photo of it in and our nature experts will help you to identify it and make sure it isn't on our unaccepted items list.
